OSEA Central Oklahoma Chapter Event - Join us at Saltgrass Steak House, 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026
Join us at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Saltgrass Steak House at I-240 and Penn in Oklahoma City for lunch and a Central Oklahoma Chapter Oklahoma Tax Commission continuing education event. The fee for the event is $25, to cover the cost of the meal and soft drink.
This is the first event of the Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents' new Oklahoma Tax Commission representation series. The aim of this series is to provide OSEA members and our fellow professionals with quality training in the intricacies of representing taxpayers before the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
James Adelman, EA, will provide a one hour presentation starting at 12:00 noon on "Offers in Compromise with the Oklahoma Tax Commission." Jim is Past President of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, Past President of the Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents, a member of the OSEA Board of Directors, and a long-time federal and state tax practitioner in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Learn when an Oklahoma offer in compromise is appropriate and how to negotiate a settlement with the Oklahoma Tax Commission. This 1-hour event will include the authority for compromises of tax liability, eligibility requirements, financial analysis, documentation, negotiation strategies, and common pitfalls that can determine whether an offer succeeds or fails.
Cost is $25 per person attending, which will cover the meal and soft drink. There is no charge for the continuing education program itself.
We are going Old School with this presentation -- no slides, but everyone will receive a handout. Bring a highlighter!
Note: Due to IRS rules, this program is not eligible for IRS continuing education credit. The Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents offers this program to our members and colleagues as a public service in light of the value of the topic.
