    The Taxpayer Advocate Service will also be providing us with a short presentation, along with offering their in-person case resolution services during the event.  Bring your documentation and POA to have their help with your client's tough case.  

    Oklahoma's only Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) director Brette Gollihare will also be in attendance to discuss volunteer opportunities with the LITC along with the client referral process.  

    Lunch is provided both days to on-site attendees.  Virtual (Zoom) attendees will be provided the link to attend one week before the event.

    OSEA Virtual Event via Zoom

    This 1½ hour special presentation will help prepare you for the use of artificial intelligence in your practice.  Our speaker is Kenneth Portera EA, ATP, of New Brunswick, New Jersey.  Ken has been preparing taxes for over 35 years and is the founder and owner/operator of Kenneth Portera & Associates LLC, a year-round tax preparation and accounting practice he launched in 2009. His firm provides tax controversy representation, tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, non-profits and gift tax filings.  Prior to forming his own business, Ken held the positions of CEO, CFO, Treasurer, and Controller for several financial service companies. Ken taught university accounting and finance classes for 13 years and served on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP).  He is a past director of the New Jersey Society of Enrolled Agents (NJSEA) and is currently the chair of the Practice Management Education Committee for the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA).  He speaks locally and nationally for various tax professional organizations.

    This webinar is extended in length to an hour and a half, and will cover the following topics:

    • How artificial intelligence evolved
    • Understanding how AI works
    • How AI will affect us as tax professionals, humans, and in our society
    • Positives and negatives when using AI
    • How we can use AI in our practice
    • The talk will conclude with real-life examples where AI has been employed in various aspects of a tax practice.
    Course title:  Artificial Intelligence:  Practical Applications for the Tax Professional

    Note:  Due to IRS rules, this program is not eligible for IRS continuing education credit.  The Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents offers this program to our members and colleagues as a public service in light of the timeliness and value of the topic.
