  Wait ... There is no statute of limitations on Oklahoma Tax Commission collections.  Right??
  
  That is what we've been told forever.  That is what we say to each other, and that is what we tell clients.  And that is what the Oklahoma Tax Commission tells us, what the Tax Commission regulations say.  Plus, the Oklahoma Constitution forbids it, no?  So, there's no statute of limitations on Oklahoma tax collection, right?
  
  Well, not so fast.  Join us in Oklahoma City on September 22nd for the second installment of the Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents Oklahoma Tax Commission Representation Series.  This event is hosted by the OSEA Central Oklahoma Chapter.
  
  We will discuss the limitations on Oklahoma Tax Commission collection actions, including limitations on assessments and actions to enforce collections.  We will also examine when these limitations apply and when they do not apply.  This will be a very enlightening program.  You may well be surprised by some of what you learn.
  

  There is no charge for the continuing education program, but you pay for the meal of your choice at the restaurant.

  Note:  Due to IRS rules, this program is not eligible for IRS continuing education credit.  The Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents offers this program to our members and colleagues as a public service in light of the value of the topic.

  Edward Moore, EA, will provide a one hour CE presentation starting at 2:00 pm on "Representation in Practice" for a 1 hour CE event. 

  This course provides a practical, case-study-based approach to taxpayer representation before the Internal Revenue Service. Using real-world examples, participants will learn how to evaluate client issues, identify deadlines, gather and analyze IRS records, conduct research, develop representation strategies, and advocate for taxpayers through the resolution process. Topics include responding to IRS notices, handling CP2000 document matching cases, substantiating positions on amended returns, resolving issues involving retirement distributions, working with IRS transcripts, researching tax authority, and communicating effectively with the IRS. Emphasis is placed on the representation workflow from initial client contact through final resolution, highlighting the investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills necessary for successful taxpayer advocacy.

  The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) made some of the most significant changes to the tax code in years, and many of them are already showing up in our clients’ questions and on their returns. The new deductions for tips and overtime, the additional deduction for seniors, the higher SALT cap, the enhanced Child Tax Credit, and the new Trump Accounts are just a few examples.

  Gleim, the official provider of EA study materials for the Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents, is offering a free webinar with Sonia Singh, CPA, who will walk through the key OBBBA tax provisions: what changed, why it matters, and where the most important changes are. The session was built for CPA Exam candidates preparing for the REG and TCP sections, since OBBBA became testable on July 1, 2026. The content is just as useful for Enrolled Agents. The law doesn’t change based on the credential behind your name.
